Toilet Repair and Installation

Fast, Professional and Trusted

Toilets are one of those parts of your home that we take for granted until they stop working. At R.F. Ohl we can take care of issues like:

  • Toilet Clogs
  • Leaky Toilets
  •  Toilets that won’t flush
  • New toilet installation

The most common problems are leaky and clogged toilets.

If you’re hearing the sound of water running coming from your bathroom, you probably have a leaky toilet. The toilet tank is the place where leaks usually occur. Leaky flapper valves, tank parts and fill valves are a proof that you need a toilet repair.

A clogged toilet is also a very common problem and it can cause a slow flush or even the toilet can stop working. The good news is that it is quite easy to repair and make it run again quickly. However, sometimes toilets get overwhelmed with toilet paper or other non-flushable items and this is when you need to call a plumber.

If you are experiencing any problem with your toilet, R.F. Ohl plumbers can have it working again in no time!

Toilet Installation

Whether you’re remodeling your bathroom or just updating old fixtures, we need to be careful when replacing an existing toilet with a new model.

A new toilet should not be hard to install, but it needs to be done correctly. We might encounter some difficulties during the process. For example, flanges that connect the soil stack to the toilet can become stressed if over-tightened. The flange has to be above or level with the floor and not below. This type of things might seem quite simple but they can be the reason of a new leak in your toilet.

Remember that at R.F. Ohl we can help you with any plumbing problem: faucets, sinks, shower, toilets, emergency plumbing and clogged drains in your bathroom.

Tips to Extend your Toilet’s Life

  • Don’t flush anything except waste and toilet paper and avoid non-flushable items such as feminine hygiene products. This will prevent toilet clogs.
  • Keep your toilet clean on the outside and the inside.
  • If you want to use a cleaner or puck, just put them in the bowl. Avoid adding them to the tank. They have some chemicals that can damage the rubber and plastic parts.
  • When using chlorine pucks for your toilet, keep in mind that when they get smaller, they can clog the water jets.
  • Try to check if your toilet is securely fastened to your flooring. Otherwise it can cause you future problems.
  • Avoid introducing water savers or bricks inside the toilet tank.
  • Test the flush mechanism by throwing a few drops of food coloring into the tank. After 10-15 minutes, check the bowl. If the water in the toilet bowl has a different color, you have a leaking toilet and the flapper or ball needs to be replaced.
  • Nowadays, we all use low-flush toilets that are created to be flushed every time we use them in order to avoid chemical deterioration of the mechanical parts.
