Whitehall, PA: Local Businesses

Lehigh Valley Mall

One of the notable landmarks in Whitehall PA local business is the Lehigh Valley Mall. It is an enclosed regional shopping mall located in the heart of the township. Described as a supermall, it is actually the largest shopping mall in the Lehigh Valley region in the state of Pennsylvania. If you are from the nearby city of Allentown, this mall is located north of the city, or specifically on MacArthur Road between Grape Street and U.S. Route 22.

The mall was opened in 1976. In 2003, it was purchased by Simon Property Group. The first ever major renovation only took place in 1995, or roughly two decades after it was first opened to the public. During that renovation, the spiral ramp was removed so that a glass elevator will be placed to replace it. Likewise, the fountains were also removed in order to give way to more renovation to the interior and exterior components of the entire mall. By October 2007, a lifestyle center was added, covering an area of 110,000 square feet. This lifestyle center is now the home of many specialty stores like Barnes & Noble, Coach, Apple, and Sephora.

Furthermore, there’s also an additional outdoor strip in this mall located in Whitehall Township called the Lehigh Valley Convenience Center. It is currently located on the east side of the lot. It houses Hhgregg and Babies R Us. The area covers roughly 87,000 square feet. There are also restaurants around and inside the mall, specifically in the beltway road.
